We insist that you come here, to Thunder Bay, Ontario, to pick up your puppy or dog! This way you meet your new furfriend before you fill out the paperwork to confirm your adoption! All adoptions are $325 unless stated otherwise.

The wonderful staff at Corrections Cares is hosting this event and selling cupcakes to raise funds for Paws for Love. Drop by to meet your new BFF! Avoid disappointment and fill out an adoption application below before Friday and we can set up a private meet before the event!

If you’re a client with Thunder Bay Veterinary Hospital, their regulations stipulate that you must contact them, state that you give Paws for Love permission to confirm you are a client, and then you must contact us at info@paws4love.ca and let us know that we have your permission to confirm your file is active. Failure to do so may result in your inability to adopt. We suggest that whatever clinic you use, that you inform them that you give Paws for Love consent to affirm your file is active and you’re able to add another dog to your file.

Hi, my name is Honey and I’m a sweet-natured 2-year-old girl who has recently made the journey from a northern community to our rescue. Despite having a tough start in life, I’ve shown an incredible resilience and a deep desire to be loved. I’m the perfect mix of youthful energy and a gentle, affectionate soul. Once I know I’m safe, my loyalty is unmatched, and I’ll likely become your shadow and best friend! I’m a real cuddle bug! I love being close to my people and I think I’m a lap dog, and ask for snuggles or lie at my foster mom’s feet. I’m super smart and eager to learn, making me a great candidate for further training and bonding activities. I’m great with kids of all ages and other dogs but I don’ really know about cats. Hi, I’m Lyra

I’m a 40 lb, 1 year old mixed-breed girl with some husky in me but its a mystery sometimes! What’s not a mystery though is how much I LOVE people.

I’m super affectionate and happiest when I’m right by your side getting pets. I’ll take all the love you’ve got! And… if I think I might be in trouble, I might just ask you to pick me up for a cuddle. I promise it works every time

I’m very gentle with kids and I get along well with other dogs too. BUT I’M NOT GOOD WITH CATS I’m more of a submissive girl, so I don’t try to be the boss. I just want everyone to get along and be happy.

I’m fully house-trained (yay me!) and I can even go potty on command. I already know some cool things like sit, lie down, leave it, and come when called. I’m still working on my leash manners, especially ignoring other dogs on walks, but I’m trying my best and getting better every day!

I like being brushed (spa day is my favorite), and I don’t shed too much. I’m also getting used to having my nails clipped and ears cleaned like a good girl. I ride nicely in the car, but I’d rather not be left alone in there I get a bit worried and might scratch.

Right now, I’m also working on crate training. It’s new to me, but I’m learning!

I do have a little dramatic side… okay maybe a BIG one. If something scary like a piece of tape gets stuck on me, you might hear me “sing” about it

But hey, it just makes me extra special and fun!

Oh and VERY important … my favorite snack in the whole world is sugar snap peas

I’m an active girl, so I would LOVE a home with someone who enjoys being active and likes walks, playtime, adventures … I’m in! After that, I’m more than happy to curl up and be your snuggle buddy.

I’m pretty good at the whole paper training to go potty but I do have some more learning to do! I love toes but I also enjoy playing with my toys! Hi, my name is Oreo and I’m a female spade husky (Alaskan) mix. I turned one year old the beginning of January and weigh 50lbs (I’ve held this weight for the past few months). I have a very distinct heart shaped nose and beautiful blue eyes. I’m microchipped and up to date on all my vaccines.

I am a very social dog and love to be around and meet new people. I play very well with other dogs and I’m okay with cats if they’re okay with me. I like to play with balls and will chase them and bring them back, but I won’t give them up easily. I like to be outside and love going for walks. I’m still getting used to the whole pulling thing and need some help in that department.

I’m trained to do my business outside and will let you know when I need to go. I’m not aggressive and not a barking-at-everything-that-moves kinda dog.

I’m not a fussy eater and I eat my Kibble twice a day now. Once in the morning and once at supper time. I occasionally get extras in my Kibble like a cracked egg or blueberries. I like fruits and vegetables too!

I like my treats and will sit and shake both paws for them and I’ll lay down on my back so you can scratch my belly.

UP FOR ADOPTION, but no adoption fee due to the fact that Sadie is a timid girl and needs a special family to help her. We’ve done all we can and now she needs a furever home to help her adjust. We rescued her after she was born outside and never had any human contact for the first 2 to 3 months of her life. She has come such a long way, but in rescue the next step is for the family to help her accomplish more.

He is so gentle unless he’s antagonizing his sibling. Yahoo gets excited and wants to play with the family foster dogs. Yahoo loves being held and will lie in your arms until you put him down. He also loves his afternoon naps. He’ll have to grow into his ears! He has a little bark and a bit of a howl when he’s playing. He is almost completely papertrained. Jayhoo is a handsome 9 week old, mix breed male. He weighs about 13 lbs and is double the size of his brother. He loves to play tug a war with his brother and usually wins! His favorite toy is a small rubber tire. He gets excited when his foster brother and sisters enter the room. He has met the family cat nose to nose. He loves being held and gives puppy kisses. I’m a spunky 8 week old Shepherd mix girl weighing just 11 lbs! I’m a busy little lady with plenty to say and a playful spirit—I love playing with my siblings, though sometimes I do enjoy giving them a little gentle “annoyance.”
