We insist that you come here, to Thunder Bay, Ontario, to pick up your puppy or dog! This way you meet your new furfriend before you fill out the paperwork to confirm your adoption! All adoptions are $325 unless stated otherwise.

See you Saturday, April 18 from 12 to 3:00 at Pet Valu on Dawson Rd for hours of tail wags and puppy cuddles! The wonderful staff at Corrections Cares is hosting this event and selling cupcakes to raise funds for Paws for Love. Drop by to meet your new BFF! Avoid disappointment and fill out an adoption application below before Friday and we can set up a private meet before the event!

If you’re a client with Thunder Bay Veterinary Hospital, their regulations stipulate that you must contact them, state that you give Paws for Love permission to confirm you are a client, and then you must contact us at info@paws4love.ca and let us know that we have your permission to confirm your file is active. Failure to do so may result in your inability to adopt. We suggest that whatever clinic you use, that you inform them that you give Paws for Love consent to affirm your file is active and you’re able to add another dog to your file.

Hi, my name’s Roscoe and I’m around 9 weeks old – and in case you were wondering, my ears really are that big. I may be small but I am mighty! Stairs and vacuums are no match for me! Despite my ferociousness and the fact that I yell when I yawn and like to growl at nothing, I really am the sweetest little guy. I’m very friendly and affectionate. I’ll be sleeping in the corner one minute and jumping around the next! I make them laugh lots – then they pick me up and cuddle me with kisses and I fall asleep in their arms. Hi, I’m Lyra

I’m a 40 lb, 1 year old mixed-breed girl with some husky in me but its a mystery sometimes! What’s not a mystery though is how much I LOVE people.

I’m super affectionate and happiest when I’m right by your side getting pets. I’ll take all the love you’ve got! And… if I think I might be in trouble, I might just ask you to pick me up for a cuddle. I promise it works every time

I’m very gentle with kids and I get along well with other dogs too. BUT I’M NOT GOOD WITH CATS I’m more of a submissive girl, so I don’t try to be the boss. I just want everyone to get along and be happy.

I’m fully house-trained (yay me!) and I can even go potty on command. I already know some cool things like sit, lie down, leave it, and come when called. I’m still working on my leash manners, especially ignoring other dogs on walks, but I’m trying my best and getting better every day!

I like being brushed (spa day is my favorite), and I don’t shed too much. I’m also getting used to having my nails clipped and ears cleaned like a good girl. I ride nicely in the car, but I’d rather not be left alone in there I get a bit worried and might scratch.

Right now, I’m also working on crate training. It’s new to me, but I’m learning!

I do have a little dramatic side… okay maybe a BIG one. If something scary like a piece of tape gets stuck on me, you might hear me “sing” about it

But hey, it just makes me extra special and fun!

Oh and VERY important … my favorite snack in the whole world is sugar snap peas

I’m an active girl, so I would LOVE a home with someone who enjoys being active and likes walks, playtime, adventures … I’m in! After that, I’m more than happy to curl up and be your snuggle buddy.

Hi! I’m Scout and I’m a male mixed breed puppy ready to meet my furever family. I’m great with other dogs and cats (they don’t seem to like me, but I like them!). I’m pretty good at the whole paper training to go potty but I do have some more learning to do! I love toes but I also enjoy playing with my toys! I enjoy snuggles but sometimes I trick you and get a little hyper! I can’t wait to meet my furever family and be the happiest pup and family member out there!

REHOMING! NO ADOPTION FEE TO THE PERFECT FAMILY!

Hi, my name is Oreo and I’m a female spade husky (Alaskan) mix. I turned one year old the beginning of January and weigh 50lbs (I’ve held this weight for the past few months). I have a very distinct heart shaped nose and beautiful blue eyes. I’m microchipped and up to date on all my vaccines.

I am a very social dog and love to be around and meet new people. I play very well with other dogs and I’m okay with cats if they’re okay with me. I like to play with balls and will chase them and bring them back, but I won’t give them up easily. I like to be outside and love going for walks. I’m still getting used to the whole pulling thing and need some help in that department.

I’m trained to do my business outside and will let you know when I need to go. I’m not aggressive and not a barking-at-everything-that-moves kinda dog.

I’m not a fussy eater and I eat my Kibble twice a day now. Once in the morning and once at supper time. I occasionally get extras in my Kibble like a cracked egg or blueberries. I like fruits and vegetables too!

I like my treats and will sit and shake both paws for them and I’ll lay down on my back so you can scratch my belly.

I’m looking for a family with kids and or other dogs to play with.

Meet Sadie —She definitely is a Heart-Melter

From Fearful to Faithful: The Transformation of Sadie:

They say patience is a virtue, but with Sadie, patience is a superpower. A few months ago, Sadie was a feral, scared, and distrustful stray, navigating the world on pure instinct. Today? Sadie is a blossoming, loving dog who has learned that human hands bring treats, pets, and safety.

Although Sadie is still a bit leery of new people she has made an incredible journey. She was from Deer Lake where workers found her and her sister running wild, trying to find shelter from the cold winter, under abandoned houses, running from the wolves and predators. Their food supply was whatever they could scrounge and find in the garbage dump. Sadie is changing from a fearful shadow into a playful, loyal companion who will learn how to show love – she just needs a bit more time. Sadie is now house-trained, leash-trained (within safe, familiar areas), and absolutely adores sitting on the couch with her human, playing with a specific toy and just watching everyone. She loves her foster buddy, a big gentle doodle, and they run around the yard chasing each other. It’s so rewarding watching how she has changed in the past couple months. The one pic was of her and her sister when they came off the plane, so skinny scared and hungry. She takes her treats so gently, a baby can feed her – which is amazing because people underestimate these reserve dogs. They are the most gentlest, kindest, loving, and appreciative dogs you will ever find.

Sadie now has 2 vaccines, her rabies is booked and we will be spaying her also (rescue pays). When Sadie goes to bed she dreams about her forever home. Is it with you? Do you have time to give her love, attention and gentle kisses? She loves going for walks or she will just lie on the couch and learn to cuddle with you. She would do amazing and adjust faster if she had a buddy to play with too. Remember it would take a few days or longer for her to adjust. Yahoo is an adorable and sweet 9 week old male mixed breed. He’s 7 lbs and is 1/2 the weight of his brother. He likes playing tug a war with his brother, but always loses! He is so gentle unless he’s antagonizing his sibling. Yahoo gets excited and wants to play with the family foster dogs. Yahoo loves being held and will lie in your arms until you put him down. He also loves his afternoon naps. He’ll have to grow into his ears! He has a little bark and a bit of a howl when he’s playing. He is almost completely papertrained. Jayhoo is a handsome 9 week old, mix breed male. He weighs about 13 lbs and is double the size of his brother. He loves to play tug a war with his brother and usually wins! His favorite toy is a small rubber tire. He gets excited when his foster brother and sisters enter the room. He has met the family cat nose to nose. He loves being held and gives puppy kisses. Jayhoo enjoys his afternoon naps. He can be vocal when excited and will howl. He is almost completely paper trained. I’m a spunky 8 week old Shepherd mix girl weighing just 11 lbs! I’m a busy little lady with plenty to say and a playful spirit—I love playing with my siblings, though sometimes I do enjoy giving them a little gentle “annoyance.”

When it’s time to relax, I’m all about snuggles! I love cuddling with my foster mom (or anyone who stops by), and everyone tells me I have the most beautiful ears. I also enjoy belly rubs, cozy naps, and quiet moments of affection.
